Approved by the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, the First China International Cyclic Economy Expo 2008 (CICEXpo) will be held in October, 23rd-25th, 2008 in Qingdao International Conference Center. It is sponsored by the National Development and Reform Commission of the People’s Republic of China, Ministry of Environmental Protection of the People’s Republic of China, Ministry of Housing and Urban-rural Development of the People’s Republic of China, Ministry of Agriculture of the People’s Republic of China, Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and Qingdao Municipal People’s Government. As a state-level international expo, it will be held in Qingdao on regular basis.

Under the theme of “Developing Cyclic Economy for a Resource-saving and Environment-friendly Society”, the Expo aims to build a state-level service platform to display, exchange and cooperate in China’s cyclic economy; to promote and apply the technologies and equipment for energy-saving and resource-saving; to attract more investment to the projects of cyclic economy and facilitate the domestic and international exchanges on CE-related technologies and equipment as well as to establish the Expo as an influential one home and abroad.

On May 6th, 2008, the first meeting of the Organizing Committee of CICEXpo was held in Beijing to specify and approve the preparatory work, as well as to issue the detailed plans on promotion and exhibition. To facilitate the preparatory work, from this day on, we officially declare the start of putting into use the official seals of “the Organizing Committee of CICEXpo” and “the General Office of CICExpo Organizing Committee”.
